He/Him
I grew up attending St James Anglican Cathedral in Peace River, AB. Through my young adult years, I attended several churches in Edmonton and Toronto, spanning a few denominations. In the churches where I settled, I became heavily involved in music ministry, and enjoyed being able to serve in other areas, when help was needed. Upon moving back to Edmonton, my wife Helen and I set out to find a church where we could see raising our future children, and we found that at Good Shepherd. I have greatly appreciated the ways in which Good Shepherd strives to have a tangible presence in the larger community,
as well as their efforts to integrate children and families into the life of the church.
I have always believed that the church is truly the body of Christ when we are serving the community, and that the establishment of the church is called to equip its members to go out into the world and do just that. I remain open to following God's leading, knowing full well that this won't always be a path that is comfortable or familiar.
We respectfully acknowledge that we are on Treaty 6 territory. In the spirit of peace, friendship and understanding we walk alongside our Indigenous brothers and sisters on the traditional meeting ground and home of Indigenous Peoples, including Cree, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Métis and Nakota Sioux. We give thanks for their hospitality and the opportunity to share common ground.
