The Rev. Jordan Ware
I'm a Texan, born and raised, who followed God's call to Alberta in 2017, when it was my joy and privilege to become the rector of Good Shepherd. I am passionate about sharing with everyone the Good News of God's extraordinary love on display in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
After studying at Yale Divinity School, I was ordained a priest in 2013. I served as the Associate for Youth & Young Adult Ministry at All Saints' Episcopal Church in Fort Worth for four years before moving to Edmonton.
My husband, Derek, was an elementary school teacher for 18 years. He now teaches visiting school groups at the Telus World of Science.
I'm pretty new to GSAC, but not at all new to the Edmonton region. I enjoy solving problems and sneaking jokes into my day to day work as much as possible. I'm passionate about building community and clear effective communication.
I am new to GSAC, and so excited to be stepping in as newest Musical Director to the congregation and Music Team! I have a church music background in playing, singing, and conducting- as well as Royal Conservatory of Music piano studies, 2yr studies from Grant MacEwan University majoring in Piano Performance, and various studies in vocal singing as well. I’ve been a highly sought after piano accompanist in the Edmonton and surrounding area for over 10yrs, and finds the majority of my work in that medium, but also enjoy the various other work I gets to explore in: solo piano performance, ensemble work, theatre work, singing, teaching, and directing. I’m so excited to be on board, and I really look forward to meeting all of you at GSAC!
The Rev. Tom Dean
Honourary Assistant priest
I am an Albertan who, after a career in IT, discerned a call to the priesthood in the early 2000s. After serving at St. John the Divine in Onoway for 6 years, I accepted the position of Honourary Assistant at Good Shepherd. I have been delighted to be part of this community and to assist the rector in ministry since 2014.
I have been married to Linda for 44 years, and we are blessed with 3 wonderful sons.
The Rev. Maude Parsons-Horst
Honourary assistant priest
I started worshiping at Good Shepherd in 2015. I am now retired from active ministry having served 30 years since being ordained in parishes in Central Newfoundland, Ontario and 9 years as a chaplain with the Canadian Armed Forces. I served on bases in Ottawa, United Kingdom, Edmonton, and Petawawa with a deployment to Afghanistan.
My four children and nine grand-children are scattered between Newfoundland, Ontario, and Alberta so I have plans in retirement to visit them more often.
Ron and I have been married since 1991 when he came to Newfoundland from the US to be ordained. We are very grateful for the privilege of serving God’s church but look forward to sneaking a little bit of time for ourselves in retirement.
